The cottage is dated and a bit musty, but it is well equipped in the kitchen and lots of furniture. What makes this place so special is the location, right on the Eggemoggin Reach near Naskeag Harbor. It faces a flat that opens up at low tide and gets covered over at high tide, and the views are just amazing. We would spend endless hours at the picnic bench looking out towards Mt Desert island to the left and Deer Isle to the right.

Great location!

The location to this cottage can not be beat. Super private, quiet, great place to have coffee in the morning! Great place for dogs as well. Our biggest complaint was the bed set up. The master bedroom has a double bed in it and for some of us that are used to king size beds it was extremely difficult to sleep in this bed, though we tried one night with no success at all. So we moved to another bedroom and slept on twin beds which were really old and uncomfortable. They were really dirty on the bottom, basically what you would expect in an old camp that no one cares about so it was kind of surprising to us as this place is truly a wonderful little cottage but none the less, the beds were better than the double bed. A few of the windows did not have screens so we couldn’t open the window and it was very hot and humid when we were there and we needed all the wind we could get!! A few of the lights didn’t have bulbs, the strainer was old and the sink was leaking in the kitchen as well. If these little things could be addressed it would really make a world of difference in people’s first impression of the place. Again, its a wonderful spot and if the “little things” could be taken care of I would give it 5 stars.

Location within Brooklin was so easy and convenient. Loved how the store was just 3 miles up the road. Property was AMAZING. Amazing, amazing. We loved the privacy, the driveway, the views, the porch, the lawn, the wild strawberries in the back yard, the easy access to the water, the warm water, the ease of getting to that other public beach. We saw deer, rabbits, birds. It was so quiet. One a scale of 1-10 in terms of the property it was a 20! Exceptional property for the dogs. House size was perfect and we loved the picture window in the living room and the one in front of the kitchen sink that offered such a nice breeze while doing dishes. For us, the house was rustic but we know this is typical for a Maine coastal cottage.
