What our vacationers thought:

Fantastic....the Best!

September 7, 2018

It is the best! We had 12 staying at the house and the rest at my mom’s down the road, BUT hung out at Hazlemere. I challenge anyone to stand in the kitchen and not be constantly looking out the windows…and getting nothing done cooking wise. The views are to die for. Lots of action on the water with lobster boats, kayaks, big Cruise Liners anchored in the harbor across the way. The yard is big and wonderful for relaxing, s’mores at night and conversations full of laughs all day. The bedrooms are good and the kids bunk room is the best. The pantry allowed plenty of room for overflow of food and drinks…why is it that when on the salt water and salt air….one is ALWAYS HUNGRY!? The dock down the road (total walking distance) is great for fishing and SWIMMING!! Yes, I said swimming in the ‘cool” Maine water. I grew up there so I know. We were entertainment as there were 17 of us jumping off the pier at once. We even had applause and hoots! We never had the TV on and the kids were happy without it. Amazing. The little game room is perfect for kids on the one rainy day. The amenities were great and we needed nothing else. I cannot recommend a summer cottage that is warm and cozy. It is not perfect…but we would so so go back again and again. And the girls at Vacation Cottages were the most helpful and on top of whatever questions, requests we had.

Hancock Anniversary Celebration

August 10, 2018

We brought our family (9 strong) to Hazlemere to celebrate our 42nd aniversary. We were on Hancock Point. Your home exceeded our best expectations! That view!! Photos don’t do it justice. You can almost touch the sea. Like living in a post card. So homey and comfortable.Everything we needed and more. We cooked dinner most every night with special night at nearby Crocker House. We loved our lobster from your recommended lobsterman. We loved the history of your family home. Thank you for sharing it with us.

July in Maine

July 27, 2018

Our family had a wonderful time using Hazelmere and staying in Maine the week of July 14-21. We have large family, 6 kids, ages 15. 13, 10, 7, 7 and 6. There was plenty of room in the house and we even had an extra room that wasn’t used.
Coming from the Gulf Coast we enjoyed the cool weather and built a fire almost every night (although all the windows were open and the locals probably thought us crazy). We enjoyed it though.
Vacation cottages set us up with the Activity Center in Blue HIll and they brought out a couple of sea kayaks. The older kids and I really enjoyed our morning and afternoon paddles around the point when the tide was low.
We took several day trips into Acadia for hikes and to eat lobster. However, we also ate at the house as it was fully stocked with cookware. Also, there are places nearby to get a good lobster roll or pizza.
All in all it was a wonderful vacation and the house was perfect for our needs. All of the kids wanted to stay longer. I cannot recommend Hazelmere and Vacation Cottages highly enough. The views you see in the listing are accurate but do not do the beauty of the area justice. We will be back.
