Cape Rosier and the surrounding area is full of hidden gems and this cottage is perfectly located for exploring them all. Just minutes away from Holbrook Island Sanctuary, you can spend the day hiking and exploring the many wilderness trails over varying terrain. What our vacationers thought:

Quintessential Maine

September 28, 2018

Looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to relax along the coast of Maine? Gull’s View is the place. My husband and I stayed at this cabin in 2013 and 2018. The improvements made in the years in between were wonderful and made the cabin more comfortable. The best things about this cottage are the location and the screened in porch. We spent much of our time exploring the area (again, since we’ve stayed in the area many times), and on the screened in porch. WE watched ospreys, cormorants, seals , and squirrels many days in the cove. The only thing I feel could be improved is the walkway from the parking area to the cottage. Going through the grass in the evening kicked up all those nasty Maine mosquitoes!

Peaceful Beautiful Location, Comfortable House

August 22, 2018

No worries about being comfortable in this 1912 log cabin. The owners have updated furniture and linens. We found the house clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook simple meals. The grill is charcoal. We did not use it but there is charcoal there if needed. The screen porch is a lovely place to have a cocktail and watch the sunset or for early morning meditation!
In other Maine rentals we have been cold in the early morning-when temperatures can dip into the 50’s. Not so here. The thick logs keep the heat in. Cool in the day, warm at night. There is heat as a back up if needed.
Several good restaurants nearby and do not miss the homestead of Scott and Helen Nearing and Eliot Coleman’s organic Four Season Farm just a few miles away.
Our only regret is not being able to stay longer!
