Condon’s Cottage is a rustic coastal cottage built in the 1930s. Located in South Brooksville you can immerse yourself in the world that inspired Robert McCloskey’s One Morning in Maine. While the scenery of his story has changed, you can still picture things as they were when Sal was in town.
Bucks Harbor Market is within walking distance (approx. half a mile away) where you can pick up a few necessities you forgot on the trip in or grab a freshly made sandwich. Bucks Restaurant located just behind the market makes for a super simple supper date! The Brooksville Yacht Club, Marina, and public landing at Betsy’s Cove are also within walking distance.
If you’re looking to get out and explore, Holbrook Island Sanctuary is near by on Cape Rosier, a perfect spot for hiking. You will also find The Good Life Center, and the historic homestead of Scott and Helen Nearing on Cape Rosier. Deer Isle and Stonington and Blue Hill are within a 30 minute drive and Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are about an hour away.
